500000 Turkish lirasi 1970 in Southside, Durham for sale

The banknotes shown above are from the 8th emission group: they are known as Turkish New Lira, a redenomination of the (old) Turkish Lira. After the redenomination, 1,000,000 old Turkish Lira (TRL) became 1 Turkish New Lira (YTL). In 2009, the banknotes of the 8th emission group shown above, were withdrawn and replaced by the 9th emission group notes, currently in circulation. The legacy banknotes on the images above are no longer a valid means of payment in the Republic of Turkey or in Northern Cyprus. Exchange offices or bureaux de change will not accept these banknotes for exchange. We however still accept them for exchange. Local shops in Turkey will refuse Turkish New Lira notes, since they are no longer legal tender in Turkey Would make a great addition to a collector. Never know could be worth something in the years to come.
